Note: This information reflects either stimulus dollars that have already been expended – usually in the form of individual benefits such as unemployment or food stamps – or funding commitments made by either the state or federal government. These funding commitments are typically associated with individual projects.
The information presented on the federal Recovery site concerning Recovery Act funding represents announcements or actual funding awards made by federal agencies to either state agencies, municipalities, non-profit entities such as community health centers, for-profit entities, or for the purposes of a federal agency initiating a project or projects here in Connecticut at facility or location they own and/or manage such as the Army Corps of Engineer flood control projects.
In some cases, the information presented on the federal Recovery website represents awards that require a plan to be formally submitted and approved prior to the funds being eligible for expenditure. As a result, funding information represented at the federal level does not necessarily align with the commitments reflected below. Some plans are still awaiting federal approval such as the state’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant plan.
In other cases, the funding is available to state agencies – such as Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water – but project commitments at the state level have not been finalized. Therefore, they are not reflected in the following document.
The information presented can sometimes reflect two different snapshots along the funding continuum. The federal site generally reflects the announcement of federal funding for certain programs while the information presented below reflects actual commitments of that funding once it has been made available – further down the line of the continuum.
