CONNECTICUT RECOVERY - JANUARY 2010 PROGRESS |
Since February 17, 2009, Connecticut state agencies have been engaged in activities to implement programs and initiative created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
On January 1, 2010, state agencies that have received Recovery Act funding began the second cycle of reporting to the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on their activities since receiving those funds. The federal government is making information from the second quarterly report available on Saturday, January 30 through the federal Recovery website – www.recovery.gov.
In anticipation of the release of this information, the Governor’s office has captured preliminary information submitted through the quarterly reporting process. The information gathered in the following documents reflect only those activities associated with the implementation of Recovery Act programs by state agencies and do not reflect efforts undertaken by other direct recipients of Recovery Act funds in Connecticut, such as municipalities, businesses and not-for-profits.
Highlights from Connecticut’s January OMB 1512 report:
-
6,184 jobs created/retained
-
$280 million in expenditures – a 577% increase over figures reported in October
Connecticut has been notified of one significant reporting error – a state agency failed to submit a report in a timely manner. The granting agency, OMB and the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board have been made aware of this error by the state.
